Fees and terms

My fee structure

Before providing a final quote for any project, I like to have a discussion about timelines and expectations. For translation and editing, I also prefer to look at the manuscript. My indicative fee structure is as follows:

Translation: 1.50 GBP/1.80 EUR per standard line of 55 characters (including spaces)

Language editing: 40 GBP/45 EUR per hour

Web design: starting at 450 GBP/520 EUR for a simple three-page site

Most of my clients are in the UK and EU, so I have provided prices in GBP and EUR. However, I can invoice you in the currency of your choice.

Invoicing and technicalities

When we agree to work together, I’ll send you a simple client agreement and an invoice for 50% of the agreed project fee for payment upfront. You’ll pay me the rest when I deliver the final product.

I know that things can change in the course of work: additional material, shifting deadlines and new information are all common hazards of academia, in particular. If anything does crop up, I ask you to let me know as soon as possible. In turn, I will let you know in advance if I need to adjust the project fee to accommodate any alterations to the agreed project scope or timeline.

I am based in Prague, so my client agreements are regulated by the Czech Civil Code.

Scheduling and cancellation

Our client agreeement will set the project start and end dates. If you wish to cancel before the start of work, please let me know right away. My cancellation fees are as follows:

15+ days before start date: Free of charge

7–14 days: 50% of agreed deposit

0–6 days: 100% of agreed deposit

If you wish to withdraw from our agreement while the project is underway, I will retain 100% of the deposit and invoice you pro rata for any additional work completed.
